JEDI is awarded a grant to fund Women’s Pandemic Recovery Response

Thanks to the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls Women's Recovery Response grant, JEDI is expanding our Women’s Business Center services to help rebuild economic opportunity for and elevate the needs of our local women and girls.

On March 15, 2022, Equal Pay Day, the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls (CCSWG) announced the recipients of a $5 million grant program to fund organizations serving women and girls who have been disproportionately affected economically by the ongoing pandemic. Grantees include organizations serving low-income, unemployed, or underemployed, AIAN, BIPOC, LGBTQIA, unhoused, rural, disabled, senior, and veteran populations.

JEDI was awarded a $50,000 grant to expand direct services through our WBC (Women’s Business Center). This funding is supporting our Business Resiliency, Recovery, and Revival Program to build back business strength in our local area.

“Equal Pay Day is a date that symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year – a disparity that is even greater for women of color, mothers, and members of the LGTBQ community. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these challenges for women across the state, and the world.” -CCSWG Executive Director Holly Martinezically far more cost-effective — solution.
